5 NEW Facebook Ad iOS 14 Strategies To Follow in 2021

Hey everyone, here are the 5 new Facebook ad strategies that we are implementing with our clients to continue to generate results even with iOS 14 taking place...

1.) Domain Name Verification
This ensures Facebook knows you are able to run ads to a domain that you control. (This is a required step by Facebook)

2.) URL Parameters
We are using URL/UTM parameters on our clients ads to label the Source, campaign, audience, placement, ad type, copy, and creative. 

This allows us to easily identify who comes from which audience and ad - giving us the capability to still optimize even if tracking is not being attributed in the ad account...

Keep in mind URL/UTM parameters can easily be lost... So it's important that you either leveraging a software, using a tracking script or speak with your developer on how you can keep these parameters appended.


Don't forget to update your privacy policy as well when you do all these changes.

3.) API Conversion Tracking
This is a server-side type of tracking that allows you to pick up and send data even if someone has an ad blocker on.

To set up API conversion tracking most softwares are now partnered with Facebook so refer to the Facebook partner directory in your pixel under settings.

i.e Shopify has it's own toggle for Maximum tracking in the Facebook sales channel that you can easily activate. (video on my YouTube)

4.) Facebook Shop
If Apple is blocking data from being shared with Facebook... Then why not keep it all on Facebook?

Facebook now has commerce manager which offers no seller fees as an incentive for you to sell your products on their app without sending your customers to your website.

We are seeing incredible ROAS numbers when testing this. As you don't have to worry about this IOS 14 update in this unique scenario since you are keeping everything on the Facebook apps.

5.) Attribution Tool

Facebook has an attribution tool under the Facebook line of business that lets you create your own Attribution period to report on Facebook results.

Essentially if you are forced to only use 7-day click you can now report on any attribution window you prefer.

The main thing here is even though it won't update the data in your ad account you can still optimize by referring to the attribution window that once worked for you - using this special tool.
